Our History

From a modest community group to a state-level development organization, Sristy has consistently stood by the poor and marginalized, working for equity, dignity, and justice.

1997

Sristy for Human Society founded as a grassroots initiative in Rajarhat.

2000

Officially registered under the Societies Registration Act.

2002 – 2005

Partnered with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for RCH programs.

2004

Registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

2005 – 2007

Expanded programs to Malda, Murshidabad, Hooghly, focusing on HIV/AIDS, women’s rights, and industrial labor outreach.

2007 – 2013

Collaborated with UNICEF, ActionAid, IGSSS, DFID, CASA, and others to scale up health, education, and livelihood initiatives.

2014 – Present

Focused on anti-trafficking, child rights, and women empowerment across multiple districts.

2020 – 2021

Responded to humanitarian crises with COVID-19 and Aamphan relief efforts in partnership with CASA, Azim Premji Foundation, ActionAid, and others.
